Leave No Trace
Awareness Workshop

The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics is a non-profit organization that promotes the conservation of the environment by teaching and enjoying responsible outdoor recreation.

​

This entry-level course will allow you to develop the conscience and ethics to make the best decisions when you enjoy nature. Typically is one to three hours long and may be tailored in its content— Leave No Trace for a specific environment, a specific recreation activity, or maybe just an overview of the Seven Principles.

Core Components

  • Overview of the national Leave No Trace program

  • The role and function of Leave No Trace Master Educators and Leave No Trace Trainers.

  • The role and function of the Center for Outdoor Ethics.

  • Overview of the Leave No Trace available resources.

  • Overview of how individuals and organizations can join and support Leave No Trace

Tailored to:

  • Environmental/Outdoor professionals: field technicians, environmental educators, tourist guides, biologists, etc.

  • Recreational or protected land managers.

​

  • People who love being in the outdoors: scouts, backpackers, hikers, bikers, etc.

At workshop completion

  • Understand, promote and share minimum impact techniques with friends, family, or community groups;

​

  • Lead a discussion on outdoor ethics and help others explore their own personal outdoor ethic;

 

  • Understand and explain why Leave No Trace is important in all areas;

 

  • Understand and convey the purpose and mission of Leave No Trace;

 

  • Recite and explain the seven principles of Leave No Trace;
